The web server in Integard Pro and Home before 2.0.0.9037 and 2.2.x before 2.2.0.9037 has a buffer overflow via a long password in an administration login POST request, leading to arbitrary code execution. An SEH-overwrite buffer overflow already existed for the vulnerable software. This CVE is to track an alternate exploitation method, utilizing an EIP-overwrite buffer overflow.

Detection & IOCsextracted from sources · hover to see the quote
- →Detect abnormally long password field values in HTTP POST requests to the LoginAdmin endpoint on port 18881, indicative of a buffer overflow attempt against Integard Home/Pro. ↗
- →Monitor for exploitation of both SEH-overwrite and EIP-overwrite buffer overflow techniques against the Integard web server; CVE-2010-5333 specifically tracks the EIP-overwrite method as an alternate exploitation path. ↗
- →Alert on unexpected process restarts of the Integard web server service, as the service automatically restarts after crashes which may indicate repeated exploitation attempts. ↗
- ·The vulnerable service runs with SYSTEM privileges, meaning successful exploitation grants full OS control. Ensure the Integard web administration interface is not exposed to untrusted networks. ↗
- ·Both Integard Home and Pro product lines are affected across two version branches; ensure patching covers versions prior to 2.0.0.9037 and 2.2.0.9037. ↗
