  • CVE-2015-5550 is triggered via MovieClip.swapDepths() with a malicious object whose valueOf/toString callback removes the MovieClip mid-execution, causing a use-after-free. Look for SWF files invoking swapDepths() with a non-primitive (object) argument whose valueOf or toString method calls removeMovieClip() on the same clip.
  • Detonate or inspect SWF payloads for ActionScript patterns combining swapDepths() with an object argument and a removeMovieClip() call inside valueOf/toString callbacks — the classic UAF trigger pattern for this CVE.
  • ·CVE-2015-5550 affects Adobe Flash Player before 18.0.0.232 (Windows/OS X) and before 11.2.202.508 (Linux), as well as Adobe AIR and AIR SDK/Compiler before 18.0.0.199. The vulnerability is a use-after-free exploitable for arbitrary code execution.
