  • Detect SQL injection attempts targeting the Jobs Factory Joomla component by monitoring HTTP requests containing both 'option=com_jobsfactory' and 'task=categories' with a suspicious 'filter_letter' parameter value (e.g., containing URL-encoded quotes, SQL keywords, or EXTRACTVALUE/CONCAT payloads).
  • The decoded payload for the first SQLi vector uses EXTRACTVALUE with CONCAT to exfiltrate version() and database() — alert on 'EXTRACTVALUE' or 'CONCAT(0x5c' appearing in the filter_letter parameter.
  • The second SQLi vector is a UNION/error-based payload querying INFORMATION_SCHEMA.PLUGINS to enumerate USER(), DATABASE(), and VERSION() — alert on 'INFORMATION_SCHEMA.PLUGINS' or 'CONCAT_WS' in the filter_letter parameter.
  • ·The exploit PoC uses 'localhost' as the target host; in real-world attacks the host will vary. Detection rules should focus on the component/task/parameter pattern rather than the host.
