  • Target product is Oracle BI Publisher (Oracle Analytics), component XML Services, exploitable unauthenticated over HTTP — monitor for anomalous unauthenticated HTTP requests to XML Services endpoints on BI Publisher instances running versions 7.0.0.0.0 or 12.2.1.4.0
  • Successful exploitation results in full takeover (C/I/A High) — alert on unexpected process spawning, new admin account creation, or outbound connections originating from the BI Publisher service process
  • Attack vector is network with no privileges and no user interaction required (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N) — no authentication bypass step needed; any unauthenticated HTTP request to the XML Services component should be treated as suspicious on patched-expected hosts
  • ·Only Oracle BI Publisher versions 7.0.0.0.0 and 12.2.1.4.0 are confirmed affected; detections should be scoped to hosts running these specific versions to reduce false positives
  • ·The vulnerable component is specifically XML Services within Oracle BI Publisher; detection rules and network controls should be targeted at that component's HTTP endpoints rather than the entire BI Publisher application surface
