CVE-2024-42103 [MEDIUM] Linux kernel vulnerabilities
Title: Linux kernel vulnerabilities
Summary: Several security issues were fixed in the Linux kernel.
Chenyuan Yang discovered that the USB Gadget subsystem in the Linux
kernel did not properly check for the device to be enabled before
writing. A local attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of
service. (CVE-2024-25741)
Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel.
An attacker could possibly use these to compromise the system.
This update corrects flaws in the following subsystems:

CVE-2024-42156 [MEDIUM] CWE-459 kernel: s390/pkey: Wipe copies of clear-key structures on failure
kernel: s390/pkey: Wipe copies of clear-key structures on failure
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/pkey: Wipe copies of clear-key structures on failure
Wipe all sensitive data from stack for all IOCTLs, which convert a
clear-key into a protected- or secure-key.
A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel's s390 crypto driver where upon some operation failure involving clear-keys, the sensitive key information stored in memory is not consistently/properly wiped. This could lead to sensitive information potentially being disclosed by accessing the corresponding memory.
Statement: Red Hat Enterprise Linux is not impacted by this CVE, as the vulnerability in question does not affect the specific versions or configurations of the Linux kernel used in

FAQ: Is Azure Linux the only Microsoft product that includes this open-source library and is therefore potentially affected by this vulnerability?
One of the main benefits to our customers who choose to use the Azure Linux distro is the commitment to keep it up to date with the most recent and most secure versions of the open source libraries with which the distro is composed. Microsoft is committed to transparency in this work which is why we began publishing CSAF/VEX in October 2025. See this blog post for more information. If impact to additional products is identified, we will update the CVE to reflect this.

Chenyuan Yang discovered that the USB Gadget subsystem in the Linux
kernel did not properly check for the device to be enabled before
writing. A local attacker could possibly use this to cause a denial of
service. (CVE-2024-25741)
