libpng: LIBPNG out-of-bounds read in png_image_read_composite
LIBPNG is a reference library for use in applications that read, create, and manipulate PNG (Portable Network Graphics) raster image files. Prior to 1.6.52, an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in libpng's simplified API allows reading up to 1012 bytes beyond the png_sRGB_base[512] array when processing valid palette PNG images with partial transparency and gamma correction. The PNG files that trigger this vulnerability are valid per the PNG specification; the bug is in libpng's internal state management. Upgrade to libpng 1.6.52 or later.
An out of bounds read vulnerability has been discovered in libpng. This vulnerability is in libpng's simplified API allows reading up to 1012 bytes beyond the png_sRGB_base[512] array when pr

CVE-2025-4083 Thunderbird vulnerabilities
Title: Thunderbird vulnerabilities
Summary: Several security issues were fixed in Thunderbird.
Multiple security issues were discovered in Thunderbird. If a user were
tricked into opening a specially crafted website in a browsing context, an
attacker could potentially exploit these to cause a denial of service,
obtain sensitive information, bypass security restrictions, cross-site
tracing, or execute arbitrary code.
Instructions: This update uses a new upstream release, which includes additional bug
fixes. After a standard system update you need to restart thunderbird to
make all the necessary changes.

FAQ: Is Azure Linux the only Microsoft product that includes this open-source library and is therefore potentially affected by this vulnerability?
One of the main benefits to our customers who choose to use the Azure Linux distro is the commitment to keep it up to date with the most recent and most secure versions of the open source libraries with which the distro is composed. Microsoft is committed to transparency in this work which is why we began publishing CSAF/VEX in October 2025. See this blog post for more information. If impact to additional products is ident
