CVE-2025-61104 FRR vulnerabilities
Title: FRR vulnerabilities
Summary: Several security issues were fixed in FRR.
It was discovered that FRR incorrectly handled certain malformed OSPF and
update packets. A remote attacker could possibly use these issues to cause
FRR to crash, resulting in a denial of service.
Instructions: In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.

frr: NULL pointer dereference in show_vty_unknown_tlv() in ospf_ext.c
FRRouting/frr from v4.0 through v10.4.1 was discovered to contain a NULL pointer dereference via the show_vty_unknown_tlv function at ospf_ext.c. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted OSPF packet.
A flaw was found in frr. When the OSPF daemon (ospfd) is configured with the debug command "debug ospf packet all send/recv detail", it attempts to print detailed information about OSPF packets. However, a specially crafted OSPF packet can trigger a NULL pointer dereference in the show_vty_unknown_tlv function in the ospf_ext.c file, causing the OSPF process to crash and resulting in a denial of service.
Statement: A very specific and non-default runtime configuration is require

FAQ: Is Azure Linux the only Microsoft product that includes this open-source library and is therefore potentially affected by this vulnerability?
One of the main benefits to our customers who choose to use the Azure Linux distro is the commitment to keep it up to date with the most recent and most secure versions of the open source libraries with which the distro is composed. Microsoft is committed to transparency in this work which is why we began publishing CSAF/VEX in October 2025. See this blog post for more information. If impact to additional
