NVIDIA GPU Display Driver for Windows contains a vulnerability in the kernel mode layer where an unprivileged local user can supply an untrusted pointer that the driver dereferences without validation. A successful exploit of this vulnerability might lead to code execution, denial of service, escalation of privileges, information disclosure, and data tampering.

CVE-2026-47550 [HIGH] CWE-822 nvidia-driver: nvidia-driver: Privilege escalation via untrusted pointer dereference
nvidia-driver: nvidia-driver: Privilege escalation via untrusted pointer dereference
A flaw was found in the NVIDIA GPU display driver. The kernel mode layer fails to properly validate user-supplied memory pointers before dereferencing them. A local attacker with low privileges can exploit this issue by submitting a crafted pointer, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution with kernel-level privileges, privilege escalation, or a Denial of Service (DoS) via a system crash.
