CVE-2026-95389 [HIGH] CWE-122 wireshark: Heap-based Buffer Overflow in Wireshark
wireshark: Heap-based Buffer Overflow in Wireshark
A flaw was found in the SCTP protocol dissector in Wireshark. This issue occurs when malformed packets are decoded from a pcap file or the network, causing a heap-based buffer overflow, resulting in a denial of service or potentially allowing code execution.
Statement: This issue will cause a crash in Wireshark and potentially result in code execution. Also, this flaw can only be exploited when malformed packets from a pcap file or the network are processed. Due to these reasons, this vulnerability has been rated with an important severity.
Mitigation: If the SCTP protocol dissector is not being used, it can be disabled via the "Enabled Protocols" dialog box in the Wireshark GUI application. This will also disable the protocol dissector

## ⚡ Weekly Recap: NetScaler and FortiMail 0-Days, AI Coding Leaks, Spectre v2 and Ransomware Arrests
A blank field. A public repo. One reply to an email. A box left exposed. None of this sounds dramatic, which is partly the problem. This week’s threats keep finding leverage in small things that were easy to overlook.
There are actively exploited bugs in the mix, cleaner intrusion paths, smarter automation, and a long patch list waiting behind them. Some attacks are getting more capable. Others are still getting in because the basics gave way first.
Here’s what mattered this week.
